Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

This covers Sorted — the marketplace at sorted.com.ng and the Sorted app. Enough, Sorted's separate money-planning product, handles more sensitive financial data (BVN, bank verification) and has its own privacy policy for that reason, not this one.

1.Who this policy covers

This policy is issued by Sorted Innovations Limited, a company registered in Nigeria, RC 9770241 ("Sorted", "we", "us"), and explains how we handle personal data for anyone who uses sorted.com.ng, the Sorted app, or messages Sorted's WhatsApp number — clients, professionals, and people who just send us a message before signing up. We process personal data in line with Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023 and the regulations of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

At signup, you confirm you've read this policy and the Terms of Service by ticking a box before your account is created — your account cannot be created without it.

2.What we collect

CategoryWhat, and when
AccountName, phone number, email, and a hashed password, when you sign up.
Identity verificationA photo of a government-issued ID, from professionals, to enable payouts. Reviewed by our team, not shared beyond that review.
Payout detailsBank account number and bank, from professionals, to receive payment. We never see or store your card number — that's handled entirely by our payment partners.
LocationA shop or pickup address, and where applicable a NIPOST digital postcode or coordinates, so clients, professionals and couriers can find each other.
Gig contentWhat you post or submit for a gig — descriptions, photos, proof of work, messages between client and professional on that gig.
WhatsApp messagesMessages you send to or receive from Sorted's WhatsApp number, to coordinate gigs and provide support.
UsagePages visited and buttons clicked on sorted.com.ng (a simple first-party pageview/click log), and login timestamps.
LeadsPhone number or email, if you submit a contact form before creating a full account.

3.How we use it

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use your gig content or WhatsApp messages to train third-party advertising products.

4.Who we share it with

WhoWhat, and why
Payment partners (currently Paystack and/or Bachs)Transaction details needed to charge a client and pay a professional. They process your card/payment details directly — Sorted never receives your full card number.
Delivery partner (currently KWIK)Pickup/drop-off address and a contact phone number, only for gig categories with arranged delivery, only for the duration of that delivery.
Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform)Messages you send through WhatsApp pass through Meta's platform and are subject to Meta's own privacy policy in addition to this one.
The other party on a gigWhat's needed to complete the gig — e.g. a professional sees the client's gig location and contact details; a client sees the assigned professional's name and rating.
Regulators and law enforcementWhere we're legally required to, or to protect Sorted's or another user's rights or safety.

5.WhatsApp specifically

Sorted uses WhatsApp as a primary channel for gig coordination, so messages you send to Sorted's WhatsApp number are received and processed by our systems the same way an in-app message would be. Because this runs on Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, Meta also processes this traffic under its own terms — see WhatsApp's Business Data Transfer Policy.

6.How long we keep it

We keep account data for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your profile, photos, shop details and payout bank account — see deleting your account. We may keep records of completed and paid gigs after that where the law requires it, or to resolve an open dispute.

7.Your rights

Under Nigeria's Data Protection Act, you can ask us to:

8.Security

Passwords are stored hashed, not in plain text. Card and bank-transfer details are handled by our licensed payment partners, not stored on Sorted's own systems. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your data and limit internal access to what each part of the team needs to do its job.

9.Children

Sorted is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we'll delete it.

10.Cookies and tracking on the website

sorted.com.ng uses a first-party pageview and click log to understand how the site is used — which pages get visited, which buttons get clicked — not third-party advertising trackers. The Sorted web app stores your login session in your browser so you stay signed in.

11.International transfers

Some of our service providers (including Meta, for WhatsApp) may process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we rely on that provider's own safeguards and their published data transfer terms.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Sorted changes. For material changes, we'll give notice in the app or by message before they take effect.
