Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 October 2026

These are the terms for using Sorted — posting and taking gigs, paying and getting paid through escrow, delivery, disputes, and your account. Enough, Sorted's separate money-planning product, has its own terms.

1.Who these terms are with

Sorted is operated by Sorted Innovations Limited, a company registered in Nigeria, RC 9770241 ("Sorted", "we", "us"). By creating an account, posting a gig, claiming a gig, or otherwise using sorted.com.ng, the Sorted app, or Sorted's WhatsApp number, you agree to these terms.

If you're creating an account, you confirm this by ticking the box presented at signup confirming you've read and agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy — your account cannot be created without it. If you're using Sorted on behalf of a business, you're confirming you have the authority to accept these terms for that business, and "you" below covers that business too.

2.Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under Nigerian law. You create an account with a phone number or email and a password, and you can register as a client, a professional, or both.

Professionals and payouts

To receive payouts, a professional provides payout bank details and completes identity verification — a photo ID reviewed by our team before payouts are enabled. Sorted may decline, pause, or revoke this verification at its discretion, including if the ID doesn't match the account's details or verification can't be completed.

Keeping your account accurate

You're responsible for keeping your account details current and for all activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you think your account's been accessed without your permission.

3.How Sorted works

A client posts a gig with the work needed, the location and the budget. A professional claims it, or a client hires one directly from the directory. Once the professional submits the work and the client approves it, payment releases automatically through our payment partner (currently Paystack and/or Bachs) — the professional is paid directly and Sorted's fee comes out of the same transaction, so your money is never held by Sorted in between. We don't see or store your card details. Where a gig runs on a manual, pilot-only payment process instead, we'll say so clearly before you pay.

Sorted provides the marketplace, payment handling and dispute support. We're not a party to the underlying agreement between a client and a professional, and we don't perform the work ourselves.

4.Delivery and pickup

For categories where Sorted arranges pickup and delivery (for example, laundry and dry cleaning), we share the pickup and drop-off address and a contact phone number with our delivery partner so they can dispatch a courier. Delivery timing depends on the courier and isn't guaranteed to the minute.

5.Damage and loss of clothes

Preventing damage

Dry cleaners on Sorted use mild, appropriate detergents and cleaning methods suited to the fabric. Some clothes have peculiarities that raise the risk of damage during cleaning — for example, dye that can run or transfer onto other garments. If your clothes have a known peculiarity like this, you must tell us about it when booking. If a defect like this isn't disclosed and it's the reason for the damage, neither Sorted nor the dry cleaner is responsible for it.

Preventing loss

To limit the risk of a misplaced item, each item is checked and counted before it leaves your home, and again on arrival at the dry cleaner — you'll get an invoice listing what was received, to confirm or object to. If you raise that something's missing, cleaning doesn't go ahead: your clothes are returned to you immediately, unclean, rather than proceeding against an unresolved discrepancy.

If something's still lost

If, despite this, an item is lost while in our or the dry cleaner's care, the cost is split between Sorted and the dry cleaner. The amount is based on the item's value, which you may be asked to support with proof of purchase, such as a receipt or invoice — without this, we'll use a reasonable estimate for an item of that kind.

6.Fees

Sorted charges a platform fee on completed gigs, shown before you pay — currently up to 10% of the gig's bounty, waived for categories where Sorted already arranges paid delivery. The fee that applies is the one shown when you approve payment.

7.Cancellations, disputes and refunds

If something's wrong with the work, raise a dispute before approving it — approving releases payment and can't be reversed through the app. A dispute pauses the gig until it's reviewed. If it's resolved for the client, nothing is charged. If it's resolved for the professional, we'll ask the client to pay, though Nigerian payment rails mean we can't force that charge — resolution in that case relies on each side's record on Sorted rather than a guaranteed payout. Outside a dispute, a gig can be cancelled before work starts by agreement between both sides.

8.Acceptable use

Don't use Sorted to:

We can suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, and may report illegal activity to the relevant authorities.

9.WhatsApp and other communications

Sorted sends gig updates, verification prompts, and support messages through WhatsApp (via Meta's WhatsApp Business platform), SMS, email, and in-app notifications. Using Sorted means agreeing to receive these — they're how gigs, payments, and disputes get coordinated, not marketing by default. WhatsApp messages are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms.

10.Intellectual property

Sorted's name, logo, app, and website are owned by Sorted. Content you post stays yours, but you give Sorted the right to display it on the platform to operate the marketplace.

11.Independent professionals and liability

Professionals on Sorted are independent — not Sorted employees, agents, or contractors. Sorted doesn't supervise how a professional performs work and isn't liable for the quality, safety, or legality of the work itself, beyond the dispute process described above.

To the extent permitted by Nigerian law, Sorted's liability to you is limited to the fees you've paid on the gig giving rise to a claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for fraud.

12.Suspension and closing your account

You can delete your account at any time — see deleting your account for how, and what we keep afterward. We can suspend or close an account for breaking these terms, suspected fraud, or legal requirement, and will tell you why where we're able to.

13.Governing law and disputes with us

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes between you and Sorted that can't be resolved informally are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

14.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Sorted changes. For material changes, we'll give notice in the app or by message before they take effect. Continuing to use Sorted after a change takes effect means you accept it.

15.General provisions

Entire agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Sorted about using the platform, and replace any earlier understanding on the same subject.

Severability. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies — we'll treat the unenforceable part as cut down to whatever a court would allow, or removed if it can't be.

No waiver. If we don't act on a breach of these terms straight away, that doesn't mean we've given up the right to act on it, or a similar one, later.

Assignment. You can't transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to someone else without our written consent. We can transfer ours — for example, as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business — and will tell you if that happens.

Notices. We'll send you anything we need to about your account to the email, phone number, or WhatsApp number on file — keeping those current is your responsibility, per Section 2.
